Art Notes: Color, light, sound in Woodruff Park; Atlanta artists to exhibit in Venice

Three Atlanta artists, Sabre Esler, Grace Kisa and Corrina Sephora, have been selected to show their work in the European Cultural Centre’s Exhibition “Personal Structures: Beyond Boundaries” in Venice, Italy, this year. The exhibit will be at the city’s Palazzo Bembo from April 20 to Nov. 24, in conjunction with the 60th annual Venice Biennale. The prestigious biennial contemporary art exhibition invites artists from across the world to exhibit in Venice during that time.

Sabre Esler’s The Cosmos, the Cipher and the Soul at Perimeter College Clarkston Campus Gallery

The often-claustrophobic conditions of immense physical and social change are the implicit or explicit topics of several artists (some of whom will be part of next month’s column). Just the title of Sabre Esler’s The Cosmos, the Cipher a n d the Soul at Perimeter College Clarkston Campus Gallery, where she teaches, suggests why it’s necessary to mention her here. Her geometric and gestural compositions use notes of underlying musical scores to limit the look of the final piece.

Pollinator Art Space opens in Atlanta – Rough Draft Atlanta

The Pollinator Art Space, which opened at The Goat Farm in 2024, is an intimate pop-up art exhibition space that is offering opportunities to artists on the Westside of Atlanta. “I’m trying to give artists an audience,” said founder Sabre Esler. Esler is a multi-disciplinary artist whose works explore the intersections of art and science. She has exhibited extensively, both in Atlanta and in cities across the country, and her exhibition “Magical Meta Meditations” was featured at Palazzo Bembo at the Venice Biennale in 2024

Pop-Up Shop in Town Brookhaven

Sabre Esler’s installation After the Rain is one of several more challenging, though scarcely controversial, exceptions, combining as it does a recording of John Coltrane’s music with an abstract hanging sculpture related to the structure of Coltrane’s composition.
